Miele Vacuum Repair - Common Power Head Fault

18th November 2025

While vacuum repairs aren’t part of our everyday work, we occasionally take them on when the cost of replacing a quality appliance outweighs the cost of repair. This was the case for a recent job involving a Miele stick vacuum with a faulty power head.

The issue? The rotating brush in the power head had stopped turning. After a detailed inspection, we found the fault was caused by a stripped plastic housing where a screw connected a belt-driven pulley to the brush. This small component plays a critical role in the function of the vacuum, and when it fails, the entire power head stops working properly.

A direct replacement part was available, but it came at a high cost. To save the customer money without compromising quality, we used a specially selected screw with a larger thread. This created a much stronger connection between the parts and restored the vacuum’s performance.

The vacuum is now running like new, and the repair cost was a fraction of what a replacement unit would have been.
