Miele Dishwasher Flashing Orange Light in Armidale

Recently we inspected a Miele dishwasher in Armidale that was displaying a solid orange light flashing on the control panel. This warning indicator can represent a number of different faults depending on the model and the operating conditions of the appliance.

Investigating the Dishwasher Fault

During testing of the appliance it became clear that the circulation pump was not operating consistently. Instead of running smoothly throughout the wash cycle, the pump was starting and stopping intermittently.

The circulation pump is responsible for moving water through the spray arms during the wash cycle. When the pump does not operate correctly, the dishwasher cannot maintain the water pressure needed for proper cleaning.

Faulty Pressure Switch Identified

Further inspection of the pump assembly revealed that the pressure switch attached to the pump was not functioning correctly. This component monitors water pressure within the circulation system and helps regulate pump operation.

Pressure switches can be bench tested to confirm whether they are operating within the correct range. Testing confirmed that the switch was faulty and was causing the pump to operate intermittently.

Replacement Part Ordered

A replacement pressure switch has now been ordered. Once installed, the new component should allow the circulation pump to operate correctly and restore normal dishwasher performance.
