Fisher & Paykel Dryer Repair - Drum Noise and Heating Issue

8th July 2025

We were called to inspect a Fisher & Paykel conventional tumble dryer that was experiencing two issues: it wasn't drying clothes properly and was making a noticeable scraping noise during operation.

After dismantling the unit and inspecting the internal components, we traced the noise to the drum drive belt. It had stiffened over time, causing it to rub and create a scraping sound. A careful application of belt dressing softened the belt, resolving the noise completely.

As for the drying issue, further testing revealed a likely fault in the control module, which was preventing the heating element from operating. These dryers are relatively straightforward in design, and replacement of the faulty module restored full heating functionality.

This job is a good example of how routine inspection and maintenance can extend the life of a well-built machine with minimal disruption.
